Abstract
The acardiac twin syndrome is a rare complication of monozygotic twin pregnancies, occurring once in 35,000 births. The acardic twin is grossly abnormal and the outcome is invariably fatal. The normal twin provides blood supply for itself as well as the acardiac twin. The prenatal motality rate is about 50-70%, as the result of congestive heart failure and the prerterm birth. The diagnosis of acardiac twin syndrome can be made by real time sonography and Doppler study. We experienced one case of acardiac twin syndrome prenatally and observed from 24th gestational week to 37th gestational week using ultrasound.
